How Does Insulin Resistance Affect the Body?

Many people believe that insulin resistance is only associated with diabetes. In reality, it is often the starting point for a wide range of chronic diseases and can develop many years before blood glucose levels become abnormal.

Insulin resistance is a condition in which the body’s cells become less responsive to the hormone insulin.
