What is CA 15-3?

CA 15-3 (Cancer Antigen 15-3) is a glycoprotein secreted by abnormal cells and can be detected in breast cancer.

Normal Range

0 – 34.5 U/ml

Elevated CA 15-3 Levels May Be Found in:

  • Gastrointestinal cancers
  • Liver cancer
  • Pancreatic cancer
  • Lung cancer
  • Ovarian cancer

Other Conditions That May Show Elevated CA 15-3 Levels:

  • Benign breast lumps or breast cysts
  • Liver cirrhosis or pancreatitis

Preparation Before Undergoing a CA 15-3 test

No need to fast before the test.
