Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne viral disease commonly found in Thailand, especially during the rainy season. Patients often present with sudden high fever, headache, body aches, fatigue, or skin rashes with minor bleeding. If not diagnosed accurately in the early stage, the condition can lead to serious complications such as low platelet count, internal bleeding, or even shock.
This program is designed to detect dengue infection in both the acute and recovery phases, along with evaluating abnormalities in blood components and the immune response. It enables physicians to diagnose the condition accurately and provide timely medical care.
Dengue Fever Screening includes the following tests:
- Complete Blood Count (CBC)
- Dengue NS1 Antigen Detection (NS1 Ag)
- Dengue IgM Antibody Detection
- Dengue IgG Antibody Detection
Preparation Guidelines:
- Fasting is not required before the test.
- Inform the staff about your symptoms in detail, such as the first day of fever, body aches, bleeding spots, or other related symptoms.
- Bring any previous dengue test results if available, for comparative diagnosis.
- Inform the staff about any medications currently being taken, especially fever-reducing drugs like paracetamol or NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, aspirin), as these may affect platelet levels.
- Get enough rest (6–8 hours) before the test.
- Wear clothing that allows easy access for blood collection.
